Chutneys are the important part of the iftar menu as we prepare pakoras, samosas that are tasteless without chutneys. There are a lot of ways to prepare different type of chutneys. Some of them can prepared as dry chutney while others are wet. Mostly, wet chutneys are preferred against dry ones. They can be used as a sauce with snacks, chips, pakoras and so on. Tamarind chutney
It is also known as imli chutney, quite famous in Pakistan. Ingredients and method is given below:
Ingredients
- One cup of Tamarind pulp
- One table spoon of Cumin powder
- Half table spoon of Coriander powder
- One spoon of Sugar
- Salt to taste
- Half spoon of Red chilli powder
- Half spoon of Chaat masala
Instructions
Get a pan and add the tamarind pulp, cumin powder, red chili powder, sugar and salt in it. Now cook it for 10 to 15 minutes on low heat until all the ingredients done. Now put this mixture in the refrigerator for some time. Tamarind chutney is ready, serve it with pakoras, samosas etc.
Plums (Aaloo Bukhara) Chutny:
Aaloo Bukhara chutney is almost prepared in every house during the Ramadan. If you had not tasted it in the past, then you must try it in this Ramadan.
Ingredients
- ¼ kg Dried plums
- 3 to 4 cups of Water
- Half cup of Sugar
- Salt to taste
- Half tbs Red chilli powder
- 4 table spoon Vinegar
- 75 grams Almonds
Instructions
Add water in a pan and place it on the heat. Add plums, salt, red chili powder in the water and let it boil for some time. Reduce the heat, add sugar and cook on medium heat until all the sugar is dissolved. Now add vinegar and let it boil. After boiling it, you will get a thick mixture. That’s all, chutney is ready to be served. You can add this chutney in your iftar menu, you will be appreciated.
Green chutney
Ingredients
- Half cup of Mint leaves
- One cup of Coriander leaves
- 5 Green chillies
- Lemon juice
- Salt to taste
· Water
Instructions
Get a blender and pour all the ingredients in it. Turn on switch and let it blend until it converts into a smooth greenish paste. Now put this in refrigerator. The delicious green chutney is ready to be served.
